Whether via air or land transport

in the event of illness we'll bring your colleagues or insured persons to the most suitable clinics, either overseasor back in their home country, after assessment by a specialist. We have over 93 experienced medical crews stationed at Munich and Cologne airports who stand ready for repatriation, and in the event of medical evacuation to a hospital on site, our local knowledge is absolutely invaluable. Thanks to our assessments, we know which facilities are up to German Red Cross (DRK) standards and which are not.

The German Red Cross (DRK) Assistance transport offering includes:

  • Nationwide capacity for land transportation in Germany and neighbouring countries with Red Cross vehicles, ranging from cars to intensive care vehicles*
  • Land transport overseas with local German Red Cross (DRK) partners
  • A total of 13 air ambulances and over 93 highly qualified, experienced medical crews (each with one specialist and one medical assistant (intensive care nurse / paramedic /emergency paramedic)
  • More than 26 German Red Cross (DRK) medical crews and 5 air ambulances at the German Red Cross (DRK) airbase at Munich International Airport
  • 67 German Red Cross (DRK) medical crews and 8 air ambulances at the German Red Cross (DRK) airbase at Cologne International Airport
  • Use of collective air ambulances if required
  • Medically accompanied transportation on scheduled flights (stretcher, PTC, leg rest, etc.)
  • Transportation to home country (repatriation) or transfer to a suitable overseas clinic (evacuation to a Centre of Excellence) if required
